At A Glance: This kit provides an extra 1/2" rise between the front axle and the engine sub-chassis in Woodings CBI and CBL motorcars. 

Why the Front Axle Riser Kit was developed - This riser kit is for a Woodings railcar with a Series-8 transmission. Woodings Railcar designed the Series-8 transmission to replace the lighter-duty Series-7 transmission. The Series-8 is more heavy-duty but is also slightly larger. Woodings redesigned (lowered) the engine sub-chassis, which holds the engine and transmission, to accommodate the larger Series-8. The sub-chassis is positioned just above the front axle and moved closer to the axle with the redesign. As the leaf springs age, the sub-chassis drops slightly, placing it even closer to the front axle. The sub-chassis can bottom out against the axle when riding on a bumpy track.

You can test for this condition by standing on the front bumper and bouncing up and down. You may feel the chassis bottoming out. You can also look under the car and find witness marks between the sub-chassis and front axle where they have been touching. This riser kit provides an extra 1/2" of lift between the sub-chassis and front axle, improving the ride and safety on bumpy tracks.

• Riser Plates are laser cut from ½" (12.7mm) HR A36 steel
• Riser Plates are yellow zink plated to protect against corrosion and rust
